What is VOIP?

You can now make national, cell and international calls for less than you would normally pay on normal telkom analogue phones. The VOIP calls will go over your existing adsl broadband connection.

Voice over Internet Protocol ( Voip ) is a technology that will allow you to make telephone calls using a adsl / leased line connection instead of a regular ( analogue ) Telkom phone line.

As a registered user you will be able to make calls to other registered users for free. This can combine your office as one local phone extension and save you on costs.

Using VOIP

There are four ways of using the VOIP Switching Centre to make your calls.
  1. Use a USB Phone/Headset with free Softphone Software:
    This is when you plug the USE Phone directly into your computer or laptop’s USE port. We will give you a link to download the softphone. Call us so we can create you a pre paid voip airtime account after you have purchased the USB telephone.
  2. IP Phones: This Phone can be connected directly into your adsl connection. You don’t need a PC with the softphone on to make the costs saving calls over your existing adsl broadband connection. NeverOff IT Networking will pre configure the phone for you so you only need to plug it in and it will work. Don’t forget to call us so we can create your pre-paid voip account.
  3. The Analogue Phone Adapter has proved to be the most popular option when making Voip calls.The reason is that you may use your plain old ordinary telephone to plug into the adapter.There are various models available from this site.The choice of a analogue telephone adapter will depend on what features are required.The differences are that some can have two voip accounts in one box and others have PSTN connections to connect to your ordinary Telkom lines as well, so that you may make/receive Voip and ordinary calls.Another advantage is that existing cordless/dect telephone can be connected to these adapters.Please contact us should you require assistance.
  4. MyPBX: This is a standalone embedded hybrid IP PBX for Small Office and Home Office ( 2 – 36 users ) per site solution. You can have multiple VOIP Phones on the network where each phone will have its own extension. You can use you existing Telkom analogue line to make calls and to receive calls on. With this you use the VOIP account over your adsl broadband connection to make calls on a very cheap rate to national, cell and international calls.
